The Possibility Institute
Stewarding the Future of the Discipline
The Possibility Institute is the 501(c)(3) nonprofit and institutional home of Possibility Sciences. It advances the discipline through research, education, shared infrastructure, and real-world practice — building the systems that help turn bold possibility into lasting reality.
The Institute exists to create the conditions under which Possibility Sciences can endure, compound, and continue serving the public interest for generations to come. As the institutional steward of the discipline, the Institute advances new knowledge, develops practitioners, builds shared infrastructure, and partners with organizations to apply Possibility Sciences to society's most important challenges.
How We Advance the Discipline
Building and Activating the Infrastructure of Possibility
Beyond advancing research and education, the Possibility Institute serves as the field-builder for Possibility Sciences. It develops, stewards, and activates the shared infrastructure that allows the discipline to grow, evolve, and create lasting public value.
As the public-interest home of the discipline, the Institute:
Develops and stewards the core frameworks, methods, metrics, and standards of Possibility Sciences.
Builds the human and AI-enabled infrastructure that helps organize, connect, simulate, and mobilize possibilities across disciplines and sectors.
Maintains living systems for experimentation, learning, and continuous improvement through real-world practice.
Partners with governments, universities, nonprofits, companies, and civic institutions to apply Possibility Sciences to meaningful challenges while strengthening the discipline itself.
The goal is not dependence on the Institute, but capability transfer — equipping organizations to sustain possibility as an ongoing practice long after individual projects conclude.
